Wonga – 0843 557 3386

Wonga.com is a British payday loan company that offers short term but high-cost credit loans. They offer £50-£500 loans that can be sent to your bank account within five minutes of creating the loan. The company was founded in 2006 and operates in multiple countries like the UK, South Africa, Spain, Germany and Poland. Wonga invented a fully automated risk processing technology that helps to provide short-term personal loans including through apps on tablets and mobiles which was launched in 2007. The company has been followed by controversy in the media surrounding its high annual percentage rate (APR) of 1509% and previous aggressive repayment-seeking techniques that ended in Wonga having to pay compensation to previous customers in 2014.

Loans – 0843 208 7700

When you look for a loan with Wonga there are two loan types you can choose between, depending on your repayment preference – a short term loan or a 3-month flexi loan. These loans also differ in the amount you can borrow, with flexi loans offering larger loan amounts.

Short-Term Loan

Short-term loans allow you to borrow between £50-£400 that can be repaid in a loan term between 1-35 days. When applying you can decide how much cash you need (up to £400) and how long you will want it for and the site will work out the interest price added to your loan to show how much you will be paying back. Wonga offer a fixed interest rate of 292% pa and a representative APR of 1509%, and also include a missed payment fee of £15 that will be charged at 11pm on the third day after you haven’t paid, as well as a 0.8% late interest charge per day for 30 days after your repayment date. The short term loan is perfect for a sudden bill or payment and requires only a one-time repayment of the loan.

3-month Flexi Loan

When applying for a 3-month flexi loan with Wonga you can ask for between £150-£500 to be repaid over 3 months with interest. When you choose your loan amount and the date you wish to start paying the money back you will be shown the 3 monthly instalments you will pay back, with the loan and interest evenly spread across the months. Wonga also provides a breakdown of how much your loan will cost with the loan itself and the interest highlighted separately. The interest rate on flexi loans is fixed to 292% pa, but the representative APR is lower than that of the short term loans you can get with Wonga at 1286%. The missed payments fee of £15 on the third night after your repayment date and the 0.8% late interest per day for 30 days after repayment date also apply to Wonga’s flexi loans, so you can be aware of the charges applied to you if you cannot repay your loan.
