Topshop is a British retailer in the fashion industry and is owned by Sir Philip Green. It is part of the Arcadia Group and has around 500 shops worldwide, 300 of which are currently in the UK. It is an extremely popular clothing store and even has its own range of make-up which it also stocks in its stores. Topshop was first founded in 1964 in Sheffield and since then its popularity has increased massively. It claims to make fashions for a ‘young and different generation’ and is loved by fashionistas worldwide. Topshop’s flagship store is on Oxford Street in London. It operates across 37 different countries and its largest international site is in New York City. Topshop has a male version known as Topman.

Topshop is a popular choice for clothing for women all over the world as it channels catwalk fashion at reasonably affordable prices. All of Topshop’s stock can be found or bought on their website. If you are looking for a particular product, you can use the search bar to find it on the website either by entering the name of the product or the product’s reference code. If you would prefer, you can browse through the categories at your own will, looking what is ‘New in this Week’ or seeing if you can find any bargains in the sale. Topshop have a great range of coats, skirts, tops, sweatshirts, trousers and blouses as well as shoes, hats and other accessories. They also have make-up and jewellery that you can buy to complete your look. Topshop have a ‘style’ category which can be used for fashion inspiration and is great when you are struggling with deciding what to buy. Featuring blogs from personal shoppers and stylists as well as looking at your own ‘Topshop wardrobe’ (your saved items). If you want to shop in store you can book your nearest store’s personal shopper via the Topshop website. The personal shopper will help you find things to suit your own style and shape. If you can’t make it to a store and want to buy online all of Topshop’s items will have a ‘style guide’ attached so you can get a rough idea of whether something is going to be the perfect fit – before you buy it. There is also reviews from previous buyers on popular items so you can see if it is rated well by others. Topshop also sell concessional items from famous brands such as Ellesse, Adidas, Lipsy, Ivy Park and Motel. All of these are available online but you may find concessions are not available in all stores and it will very much depend on the size of the shop as to how much stock they have.
Topshop are probably most well known for their different types of jeans. They all come in different shapes and all have different names. You can find a style/fit that suits you and then browse a range of different colours and designs under this name. Names include the ‘Joni’ jean which is stretchy denim and high-waisted, the ‘Jamie’ Jean which is is slightly high waisted and tends to graze the ankle and the ‘Hayden’ jean which have a baggier more boyfriend style fit. All Topshop jeans are made under their denim brand ‘Moto’ and are bought by waist size and leg length as opposed to regular UK 8, 10, 12 sizing. Moto itself includes hundreds of denim pieces including jackets, dresses and shirts. Topshop do offer student discount to their customers. You will be required to either have a Unidays account when shopping online or present valid student ID when heading to the till in store. If you feel you have been unfairly denied student discount then please call the contact number.
Topshop Delivery & Returns Policies
if you have been browsing the Topshop website and find something you would like to order, you can add it to your virtual basket and head to the checkout. Once it has been paid for you will receive a confirmation email. Following this email, you will receive notification of when your parcel has been dispatched. There are a number of delivery options available to you. You can either have your item delivered to home, delivered into store or delivered to your nearest Parcelshop.
Standard delivery will take up to 4 working days and will cost you £4. Unless your order is over £50, and then it is free. If you need your item sooner, you can opt for express Delivery for £6. It will arrive the next working day if the order is placed before 9pm.
Standard delivery to store is completely free and will take 3-7 working days. Express delivery will ensure your item is in store by 1pm the next day if you order by 9pm on a weekday and 5pm at the weekends. This will cost you £3.
Order by 4pm weekdays or 12pm on Sundays to have your items delivered to you local Parcelshop the next day. This is free on orders over £50 and £4 for anything under.
If you have any problems with your Topshop delivery, whether it hasn’t shown up on time, you have received the wrong items or your products are damaged, then please call the Topshop head office.
If you are not satisfied with a product you received from Topshop, you can return it via Royal Mail or take it into store and you will be given a full refund provided your item is returned within 14 days (28 days if taking into store). Returning Topshop deliveries is free and the label is included in the package. Please note that Topshop can only fully refund your product if they find it to be returned in the same condition as it was sent. You will be notified when Topshop have received your return, but be sure to keep your Royal Mail receipt in case anything goes wrong and you need to track your return. If you haven’t received your refund after 7 working days, then please call the Topshop head office and it can be chased up for you.
When ordering from Topshop, you will be asked to create an account using a username and password of your choice. This account will enable you to check out quicker on your future purchases and will also mean you can save track any orders you have out for delivery or see the status of any returns you have sent via the Royal Mail. You can also save items to your wishlist to purchase at a later date.
If you would like to apply for a job at Topshop you can either look online or head to the ‘careers’ section of the Topshop website where you will find everything that is available at the minute. If you have applied for a job at Topshop and have not had a response within 14 working days please call the head office number and someone will chase up your application.
