Pizza Express was founded in 1965 and today has a total of 400 restaurants across the UK and a further 40 overseas in Europe. The company was sold to a Chinese equity firm in 2014
in a £900 million deal. The first Pizza Express restaurant to open was Pizza Express Wardour Street in London.
