Natwest has several different types of bank accounts available that are designed to suit different types of customer. The standard current account is the Select account which has no monthly fee and is designed for everyday banking. From there, you can upgrade to a reward account where you will get 3% in rewards for each bill that you pay by Direct Debit. You can also opt for a Reward Silver account with European travel insurance, phone insurance, preferential travel money rates, cash back on theatre tickets and a Tastecard for discounts at thousands of restaurants across the UK.  Reward Platinum and Reward Black accounts offer even more great rewards such as a concierge service. However, note that the Black account is only available for private banking customers.

When interest is paid on a savings account depends on what type of account it is. For the instant saver and cash ISA, interest is paid on the first business day of each month. For the first saver (which is for children under 7) interest is paid on the first business day of January, April, July and October.
