B&M Bargains Products – 0844 248 2669
B&M Bargains stocks a huge range of products, as a variety store. Their aim is to stock everything the average customer could possibly want, as cheaply and for as good a value as they possibly can.
These products include:
The B&M clearance sale: where their already impressive value for money is made even more eye-wateringly stark. Seasonal items like Summer and Gardening, Back to School, Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Springtime, and New Year are placed into clearance after the event or season, reducing their price even further. The clearance sale is the place where you’ll find the best B&M bargains, and perhaps the best bargains in the entire world.
Summer and Gardening
This section involves anything you’d need to make your garden a thing of beauty this summer. Fancy a barbecue? You can, B&M has everything you could possibly need. It’s a one-stop shop. More after chilling on a sun lounger, with sunscreen so as not to get burnt, and a great book to read? B&M has that too. When the sun goes down, you can enjoy their patio heaters and chimineas, or retreat into a B&M tent. Smashing.
Back to School
It’s that time of year, and as much as we’re all dreading it, there’s nothing we can do to stop it. The school year has returned. With it, suddenly we all need to be buying school uniforms and their millions of accessories, pens, pencils, erasers, notebooks, rulers, protractors and other graphical equipment, calculators, lunch boxes and backpacks. Luckily, every single one of these items, along with heaps of back to school essentials that I haven’t named, can be found in B&M bargains for extremely affordable prices.
When it comes time to outfit your little monsters in preparation for getting them back to school, no place has a wider product range or better pricing than B&M Bargains.

Toys and Games
Not to be outdone on toys either, B&M bargains stocks both indoor and outdoor toys. For bright sunny days, kids can enjoy a scooter, bike or skateboard, and other ride-on toys, or jump to their hearts content on a trampoline or pogo stick. They can take their best penalty shots with B&M footballs into B&M football nets, while B&M tennis sets and golf gear keeps the less football-minded happy.
Indoors, action figures and dolls abound, with animal and dinosaur sets, remote-control cars and even fliers like RC helicopters and planes to keep the kids (and the adults!) laughing out loud and running around in pursuit of their new toy.
Fancy dress clothing gets its own section, as do board games and puzzles, with creative kids able to find everything they could ever want in the kid’s Craft section and little film buffs finding their feet at the Kids DVDs section.
The right tool for the right job, as the experts at B&M, would tell you. We all love our furry (or feathered, or scaly) friends, but caring for them right can be expensive. Of course, you can’t compromise on the quality of their care, but you can find smart prices for the things you need – like the prices in the Pets section of B&M bargains. You’ll be able to find dog food, cat food, grooming supplies, litter, collars and leads, transportation, toys, bowls, bedding and mats, and treats there for rock-bottom prices. What’s more, you’ll also be able to find anything you need to care for birds, fish, small pets like mice and gerbils, and more exotic fare like leopard geckoes or alligators.

Careers at B&M Bargains – 0844 248 2616
B&M currently has 500 stores and over 22,500 employees – many of which are dedicated staff looking at a career, not just a job. The company prides itself on being family run, and puts its emphasis on speed, fun, and customer satisfaction, always trying to, in their words, “preserve the feel of a family-run business that cares for its staff and its customers.”
Always expanding, B&M bargains is now looking for dynamic, outgoing individuals who are driven, have great work ethic and will bring something special to their team – people who have “great leadership skills” and a “passion for success.”
Retail experts are always in demand – that much is certain – but for each one to find a store or chain that they want to stay with takes more than just filling that demand. B&M have stated on their website and in job search websites that they look to be a sort of family to their staff, taking care of them and trusting that the staff will do the same. In today’s first-come-first-employed, disposable retail environment, with its 0-hour contracts and minimal legislation to prevent the corporate bad behaviour, that cares for staff and sense of community well-being among B&M stores, if it exists at all in practice, is a rare and precious thing.
If you think you fit the mold described above, of an active, go-getting, ambitious, hardworking, caring, sharper-than-the-average-tool person, who loves to do a job well and wants a caring work environment, you may be one of the people that B&M is looking for – and you could have a career waiting for you there. In which case, what’s stopping you from applying?
A Brief History of B&M Bargains
B&M bargains came into being in 1978, as the culmination of ideas and work brought together by Malcolm Billington. Originally named “Billington and Mayman”, the first store opened in Cleveleys, Lancashire, in December of that year and worked steadily onwards towards greater and greater successes, until being acquired by Simon and Bobby Arora, two farsighted investments experts from brokerage firm Phildrew Investments in December 2004.
The company immediately began to expand, and saw phenomenal growth, particularly in 2006 when it successfully acquired and assimilated the formerly GlynWebb chain store “Do It Yourself (DIY)”, building up and opening the very first B&M Homestores from their ashes. The company also acquired and absorbed a number of stores and assets formerly belonging to Kwik Save, Woolworths, and Au-Naturale, which had all folded that year or in the years immediately previous, leaving them open to consumption by a more successful, growing business like B&M. With the infrastructure there at the ready, the company could use them to grow at a lightning pace, building up where they left off.
By 2010, the business was so large and sprawling that the head offices needed to relocate to larger, customer built facilities, and a new office and specially-built 620,000sq ft distribution centre were opened in Speke, Liverpool. With it came new operations directors, new finance managers, and new logistics directors, joining the increasingly far-reaching company in 2011.
B&Ms conquest of rival budget DIY stores continued into May 2011, when it purchased a number of Focus DIY stores before converting them into B&Ms, ultimately leading to one of the world’s foremost private equity funds taking a significant share of B&M in 2012.
That firm was Clayton, Dubilier, and Rice, and in December of 2012 they took over a significant stake’s worth of shares, installing Sir Terry Leahy and Vindi Banga on the B&M board of directors.
In March 2014, the company itself took over the majority stake in the German discount retailer JA Woll, before immediately opening another 500,000 sq ft distribution centre in Speke, this one designed to distribute internationally.
From there, it has grown incredibly. In July 2015, B&M bargains opened its 450th store, and shortly thereafter, in March 2016, the business’ 500th store opened its doors. Whatever the future may hold for B&M bargains, it looks very bright indeed.
