Admiral

Admiral, or Admiral Insurance as it is sometimes known, is an insurance multinational conglomerate founded in 1993, at the turn of the year. Known for it’s “Admiral Multicar” policies, which are persistently and incessantly advertised on every possible medium, the company has remained a staple of car owners and owners of other things which may need to be insured in case they break, are stolen, burn down, or in cases where insurance is a legal necessity to ownership and operation, like with a car or a ferret.

Founded in January of 1993AD, Admiral is actually simply a trading name – for a company known on the international shadow marketplace as “EUI Limited”. It began out of a Welsh bungalow now called Tŷ Admiral, or in English, Admiral House, which operates as the company’s headquarters even to this day! Despite its spread into many other areas of the world, and the incredible allure of glamorous life over the sea, Admiral has not lost sight of its roots – the Tŷ Admiral is still its head office, years later! In fact, its dedication to the motherland is so great that it is the ONLY member of the FTSE 100 that is headquartered in Wales – the other faithless Welsh having abandoned it in favour of London or Swansea.

Besides Tŷ Admiral, Admiral operates offices, complexes and safehouses in Swansea and Newport, Canada (in Halifax) and even in India!

Like real admirals, astride their majestic flagships, Admiral Insurance also boasts some impressive backup – except instead of destroyers, battleships, schooners and frigates, it’s sister insurance companies, like elephant.co.uk, Bell Insurance, and the girl’s best friend, Diamond Insurance.

Originally, Admiral found its niche by working with individuals who suffered from higher insurance premiums than their peers – young, newly-qualified drivers, those who drove in built-up areas like London, the expansive SouthEast of England up to and including Essex, and the harsh, rolling wilderness of Scotland. This model served them well until the introduction of the Great Equaliser.

In ordinary circles, “the great equaliser” means guns, which made interpersonal combat and warfare into a more even playing field – making smaller, weaker soldiers every bit as deadly as the big, strong ones. However, in insurance company parlance, the “Great Equaliser” isn’t guns, but online price-comparison websites like Compare the Market and Go Compare. With the introduction of this “Great Equaliser”, Admiral broadened its horizons, and began to sell insurance to a much more generalised customerbase.

However, Admiral has not completely sold out to the Great Equaliser of price comparison websites. Advertised on every available medium, as you have no doubt noticed, they notify their myriad viewers that their product is only available directly and cannot be bought through a comparison site like MoneySupermarket or Compare The Meerkat.
Admiral FAQs Expanded

What kinds of insurance can I buy from Admiral?

Admiral are specialists in car insurance, and pioneered a policy called “Admiral Multicar” which you may have heard of if you’ve ever turned on the TV ever. Essentially, this policy allows households with multiple cars to insure their vehicles affordably, and even has bonuses for homes with three cars and those where multiple drivers will be driving.

Is it possible to get Admiral to insure nonstandard items?

Admiral are able to offer a range of insurance options for those who drive, and can offer you a range of possibilities for your car. If you want non-automotive-related insurance, you can call them and ask about it, or visit their official website (this isn’t it). It is possible that they will be able to sell an insurance policy for nonstandard items, such as the $2 million insurance policy that Taylor Swift has taken out on her legs. You’ll never know if you don’t ask!

About Admiral

Admiral, sometimes called “Admiral Insurance Plc. Limited” is an insurance provider based out of Wales, in an ancestral office called “Tŷ Admiral”, which loosely translates into English as “Admiral House.” Becoming famous in 1993, when it first exploded on to the UK car insurance scene, Admiral’s dedication to those who must insure more than one car on the same policy has made them popular with families and businesses over the entirety of the islands on which the UK is collectively set.

Keen and avid insurers of anything which may break, malfunction, combust, or be stolen, or where insurance is needed in order to safely and legally own and work the item, such as in automobile ownership or poultry farming.

Please note, when dealing with Admiral on the personal, corporate or international level, that the name which the company trades under in the UK may be “Admiral”, but elsewhere, it is known by the stealth conglomeration name of “EUI Ltd”. Despite operating as an international insurance cabal, beyond governmental borders, and therefore being technically entitled to a space station headquarters, moonbase, volcano lair or shadowy, hologram-filled business room, Admiral remembers where it came from, like J-Lo. She remembers that, even though she’s rich now, she came from the block, and she hasn’t lost sight of that.

In a similar vein, the headquarters of Admiral is still Tŷ Admiral, in Wales, once a humble bungalow and now the centre of an international insurance empire. Other Admiral offices include those in the South of England, like Newport and Swansea, one in the far North, in the frozen icescapes of Canada, and one in the blistering heat of furthest India!
